Starting Again

I mentioned in my last post that there had been quite a few life events that were taking me away from my regularly scheduled posts, and once again, thank you so much for being patient with me as I get back into my routine. During that time, I’d not only stopped posting, I’d stopped doing quite a few of my hobbies – bullet journal prep, new recipes, reading, and sewing – instead focusing on things that allow me to turn off my brain for a bit.

Hello, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and binge watching feel good shows, like Ted Lasso, and the Good Place over and over.

It doesn’t leave me much to post about – unless I were to add to the huge list of people already commenting on the awesomeness (that’s a word, shut up) of Ted Lasso. Also, I <3 Rebecca. I want to be her when I grow up.

But as of July, I’ve felt motivated again, starting with bullet journal pages. They’re a bit sparse, but it’s a start…

July means Independence Day for the United States, and while I’ve been pretty irritated with the goings on in my country lately (not going to get into it here – this is a politics free zone. For now.), I wanted to pay a little bit of homage to my country.

I really like the sky and clouds effect on this page, and it’s been filled in with events like a certain special anniversary, appointments, a trip north, and upcoming visits from a college friend and one of our nephews!

This one has also gotten more colorful, being filled in all the way through today with the appropriate color. 🙂

I’ve also created a GLAD page (Grateful for, Learned, Accomplished, and Delighted by), that I’m working really hard to keep up with.

It feels good to pick up pencil, straight edge, pens, and colored pencils to be creative again! And I already have ideas for August!

Meanwhile, other things I’ve started again – sewing projects, reading, and a sourdough starter (I’m sad to say that Suzanne the Sourdough Starter of 2020 has failed). More on all of those later!
