The Busy Season

For some reason, the months of October, November, and December feel frantic most of the time. A combination of my company’s fiscal year coming to a close, two conferences that I typically go to, holidays, and vacation time to spend, and somehow I blink and the year is over!

That being said, at the end of October, I was able to go to one of my favorite conferences – sWE23! It’s held by the Society of Women Engineers, and every time I’m able to go, I meet new people, gain new insight, and come home rejuvenated and enthusiastic to try new things. I LOVE this conference!

I took some extra time in October to work on pages in my bullet journal – my way of turning off my brain from the day to day and kicking in the creative side. I’m particularly proud of the theme, and how it turned out, despite the bleeding of the ink in a few places.

Next year’s journal is going to be better – I just have to determine if I want to downsize a bit from this one, or upsize a bit. Anyone have a preference between an A5 journal vs a B5 journal?

I’m really digging the colors, and the overall feeling of coziness…

What I need to do, maybe in some downtime, is work on adding a fire in the fireplace, and maybe some random cushions where there’s white space…

Also, I’m more than a little proud of how the chair/table combo came out, as well as the desk and Tiffany lamp. Both are references to a family member I lost earlier this year – I have many memories of that chair, and a lamp she had with a nature themed shade.

I’m going to be spending a bit of time in November traveling in some way, looking for opportunities to take a little time each day to find a way to be cozy.

How are you going to get cozy in November?
