Ah, February. The shortest month of the year. A little bit longer this time around, though!

February can be a difficult month. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re dealing with dreary skies, possibly snow, sleet, or slush, and the knowledge that holidays will be few and far between from now until Memorial Day. Alternatively, it’ll be less dreary with less snow or slush, and more worries about what our climate is up to.

That being said, if you look for the happiness, if you look for the love this month, maybe it’ll be a little better than you expect it to be!

That’s what I’m going to choose to do this month. I’ve made my bullet journal display happy things – hearts, flowers, jewels in some cases, mail – so that as I walk through this month, I’ll be reminded to look for the happy.

I went searching in Google-land to find inspiration, spreads that others had put in their journals, and did my best to honor those ideas in my pages.

Over time, I may thicken the letters of my G-L-A-D page, but for now, I’m happy with the colorful candy hearts.
By the way, I can’t say enough about a friend of mine, AL, who suggested this spread – originally I was doing a Gratitude page, but I felt like I could do more. AL to the rescue! She suggested Grateful for, Learned, Accomplished, Glad. And I love it!

I’ve also started doing weekly spreads, but instead of logging appointments (I don’t have many non-work related appointments, and those go in a different place), I have started a habit to add highlights of my day, working to choose something positive.

This spread is one of my favorites for this month. Again, I got the idea from someone else’s spread, tweaked it just a little, and this is how it turned out. I’m loving the fact that it’s the week of Valentine’s Day!
So, I’m going to do my best to focus on positives this month! I’m also going to try to figure out if there’s something I can do that’s special for Leap Day. It lands on a Thursday, but I’m not going to let that stop me!
What are your plans for this shortest month?
