It’s the beginning of the Autumn season, and the weather this weekend has been beautiful. MM and I headed out for a walk yesterday morning, and took that as an opportunity to clean up a couple things in the yard. Branches that had been in the way for years, and many, many weeds (I’m not a good gardener). That kind of thing.
The air was crisp and clean, the breeze was cool, and the sun was very warm. Such a gorgeous day!
And I brought that energy right back into our house – it was time to decorate the house for fall!

I enjoy decorating our house. I don’t have a lot of decorations for the seasons that aren’t, you know, Christmas, but I still have fun putting thing on top of our piano, and changing the look of the house a bit, just every so often.
It’s not quite chilly enough to go full fall when it comes to food, but that didn’t stop me for making Enchilada Soup for MM and I to eat throughout the week. And, because I was feeling bad about sending him off to work with shredded chicken almost every day for weeks, decided to try a new recipe, called New Orleans Bourbon Chicken. I pulled it from a Pinterest pin, and made it and some rice for lunch today. It’s pretty good – I think there are some changes that I can make to it that will be more to my and MM’s taste. At that point, I’ll make a page for it, I promise!
But, for now, it’s time for me to get back to my weekly preparations!

How are you enjoying the start of a new season?
