A coworker friend of mine mentioned being impressed by how many self-improvement activities I have going.
Which means I immediately started trying to figure out how many activities I actually have (and try to figure out if I talk about them too much…)!

I love going to webinars and sessions that cover subjects I’m interested in – especially those that help me lead my team more effectively, or help them find their next steps or roles in their careers. Conferences like the annual Society of Women Engineers conference, are incredibly helpful. That event energizes me so much, and right at the time of year that I really need it – right before a major corporate event and the holidays. Who doesn’t need more energy at that point?

You’ve seen my bullet journal pages that i work on each month, so you see the habits I want to encourage:
- Yoga (though I need to get back into that routine)
- Reading at least 10 minutes per day, and emails don’t count
- Limiting social media to less than 30 minutes per day

I’m also doing Duolingo sessions again, with the intention of being able to at least read a bit more Italian. I’d been following the lessons for years, and got back into it almost two months ago. I have quite the streak going, too, which makes me feel proud. I feel like I’m making progress with reading and listening, but speaking needs some definite improvement. So does my processing speed. Perhaps I should look for a group to join so that I can practice!

Perhaps it’s not shocking to those who know me “in real life,” but I watch quite a few movies and TV shows for the sole purpose of feeling good. I feel like that’s a way to experience self-care, allowing myself to just exist without the pressure of constant productivity that I tend to feel throughout the day. Plus the shows I watch can bring me some wisdom as well
Ted Lasso, The Good Place, and Parks and Recreation? I’m talking to you!

*cough* You’ll notice I don’t have “Limit TV time” anywhere in my habits list… *cough*
Sometimes it’s just the little things.

What about you? What have you done toward self-improvement lately? What do you want to start doing?
