A number of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to take a girls’ trip about 4 hours or so north, to one of my favorite places – an Island found in Lake Michigan. It’s a truly relaxing place, and I have the benefit of spending time there due to a good friend welcoming us to her family’s home for the weekend.
It’s a gorgeous island, full of friendly people, lovely beaches, strenuous hikes, and beautiful scenery.

One of our favorite places to visit there is the Lavender farm and store, where we spend an abundant amount of time taking pictures and smelling the lovely scents.

Yes, I got close enough to an insect to take that picture. I am also amazed at my courage, as I am not at all a fan of anything that has more than four legs. 🙂

Besides the lovely Lavender farm, we explore the island, taking hikes and visiting the local stores. This trip we stopped at a store that specializes in all things textiles – looms, knitting, sewing, etc. I couldn’t stop myself there, as you may expect. I asked my friends to choose two fat quarters of fabric each, and I plan on doing something with them shortly, as soon as I have the rest of the supplies I need to do so. Can you guess what I’ll be doing?

More on that when I’m done!
I also couldn’t help myself but to purchase a craft that I hadn’t done in well over a decade – cross-stitching!

I’m loving rainbows and how colorful they are, so I couldn’t resist. Given the fact that I couldn’t work with the fabric the way I wanted to today, I decided to break open the box and try my hand again! A had a couple false starts, but it’s coming along nicely, I think!

I’m almost done and will share when I am!
Is there an old hobby that you’ve picked up recently?
