Major Project Complete, Anniversary, and Food!

I’ve made my third Weekender bag, and I think I’m finally getting the hang of it.  While I do follow most of the instructions that are included with the pattern, I have made some modifications that I think I’m going to continue with.  I’ll update the final page of the Weekender bag “essay” with my notes soon.

CC loved the bag, and as I gave it to her at work, it got a lot of visibility in her area of the building.  She was willing to let me experiment on her bag with those modifications, and was willing to pay me!  She’s awesome.  🙂  She very kindly posted a picture on Facebook, and I may have a line on another bag “order”.  I’m kind of excited about it!

I still have Mom’s bag to complete, and the gift for MM hasn’t been started yet (still need to find all the components, and the website from which I purchased said pattern hasn’t gotten back to me regarding my questions – grr).

MM and my 9th wedding anniversary was this past Thursday, and we decided to take the weekend to head to Chicago to eat some really good food at our favorite restaurant, and take in The Book of Mormon.  We took everything pretty easy, wandering around a couple parks and just enjoying the beautiful weather.  Dinner was wonderful (wonderful waitress, who took very good care of us, and played around with us as well), and the musical was really funny.  I know we’re probably close to the last people to have seen the musical, but those tickets were pretty hard to come by, since it’s so popular!

Upon returning home from Chicago, we hit the grocery store and picked up food for the upcoming week.  MM requested Barbecue Pulled Pork for the week, and we both agreed to Barbecue Ribs for tonight.  I have a party on Wednesday, for which I’ll be trying a new recipe – Caprese Pasta Salad.  I’m already working on a page for the Pulled Pork, and so I should have that posted today.  I’ll get the Pasta Salad up on the site soon as well.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

More later!
