Craft Room Clean Up

This morning I woke up to a lot of rain, which irritated me. I had plans!  The main one was going for the jog I desperately needed after a night at a steakhouse with an out of town guest followed by a night of pizza.  So, after waiting for the rain to let up for a couple hours, I gave up the ghost and made scrambled eggs for me and MM. This was not our usual Sunday tradition, since we had pancakes with our visitor yesterday.

About 35 minutes after breakfast, MM came in and pushed me to go jogging. So, we went. Farther than I have in a long time – about 3 miles with a short 10 minute break in the middle (combined the jog with an errand – how’s that for efficiency?). Pretty proud of myself for that accomplishment, since the last half mile was up a somewhat steep hill against a strong wind.

Upon reaching my house, I found the fabric organizers I’d ordered had been delivered! So, after getting cleaned up and grabbing lunch, I headed down to the craft area to try to organize the fabric I’ve been purchasing over the last couple months. MM also took that opportunity to straighten up a couple other areas of the basement, providing geneal support and company.

Turns out I had a lot more fabric than I thought, most of which was in the shopping bags they’d come home in. I order 18of the fabric organizers and ended up using every one of them with fabric left over! Granted, I ordered a size smaller than I meant too, but still.

I was also able to figure out how to store all the interfacing I usually have to deal with for the bags I make! This was a huge deal, since I usually end up with either a pile on the floor, or with it shoved between a couple pieces of furniture.

The craft area looks great, the shelves. I have the majority of my fabric on them, and the four projects currently on my radar are organized separately. In bags, but what can you do?

I might get the three Riviera handbags done next, since they’re closest to completion. Or, I may finish cutting out Mom’s weekender and get it started. MM’s duffle is waiting for hardware, but that’s all on order. And the fourth Riviera bag has fabric purchased but needs to be washed.

Guess I’ll just have to see what motivates me to mess up my newly cleaned craft room… 😀

More later!
