Hi! I’m B’s Monkey.

His Auntie Kegger gave me to him for Christmas. I’ve been his constant companion ever since, and now that he’s 10 months old, he’s starting to use me as his wrestling buddy, practicing his body slams! I love the little guy, so I’m all for playtime!
Over the past couple months, though, I’ve noticed that he’s starting to gnaw on my a bit. Maybe it’s because he has 5 new teeth, or maybe he’s just really hungry (I don’t believe it’s that last one – his parents take really good care of him, and I’ve seen the guy eat!). And since Auntie Kegger used beads for my eyes, it’s time for a little face work.

After all, we wouldn’t want B to get hurt!
We made sure that B was unaware that I was leaving – he would get really upset to not have me near when he needs me. Auntie K took me to her operating facility, and got to work right away. She told me what she was going to do, and then made sure I was asleep so that nothing hurt.
First, she found a spot on my back that wouldn’t hurt too much. She opened me up there, and shifted around some of my stuffing so that she could more easily get into my eyes.
After making a couple snips with really sharp scissors, she removed my bead eyes. These snips released a couple threads that made my mouth nice and trim, so she added some anchoring thread back in, since my new eyes wouldn’t do much to help.
It was now time to select new eyes. At first, she though, why not give me big brown eyes, just like B! But then, after comparing the two, she thought that really, the only one that should have beautiful brown eyes should be B himself. She decided that smaller black eyes fit my looks and continued to make me look like the dashing young monkey I am.
She made very small, precise incisions where my eyes would be located, and inserted them, taking care to make sure that their securing washers were tightly in place. She then adjusted my stuffing, and stitched me up! Just like new.

I am now enjoying a nice cool bath, and will hang out for a bit to make sure I’m dry before Auntie K gets me tickets back to B. After all, I want to make sure I’m looking good for my best friend!
Thanks, Auntie K!
