Christmas Inspiration!

It’s been another 11 days, and for that I’m sorry.  To be clear, though, I didn’t do anything crafty up until Saturday.  MM and I were in the south to support a major trade show that our company holds once a year.  We got back in the wee hours of Friday morning, and had to catch up on things that we’d missed at the office while away.

I know I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been worried about what to do for Christmas this year.  I knew that inspiration would hit me at some point, but given the number of things that I have on my schedule between now and Christmas, I was worried about when that inspiration would hit and how much time I would have to make that inspiration into something.

Luckily, on Saturday morning, inspiration hit.  I was debating heading out for a jog, and instead sat down at my computer in front of the always wonderful Pinterest.  I bounced around a couple boards, and a thought started flickering in the back of my mind.  So then I headed over to another of my favorite sites, and that flicker turned into a sputter.  After browsing that site, the sputter became a pretty solid flame.

And then.  All of the sudden.  Forest fire.

I had ideas for two of the group gifts that I needed to worry about.  I had ideas for a list to give out for me.  I had a list of all the people that I would need to purchase for, the events for which I would need to bring some sort of baked good.

That’s about the time I went nuts.  MM came in from doing some yard work, and I practically accosted him, saying that I had ideas, and I was feeling really, really motivated.

We headed out so that I could get all of the supplies for the two sets of gifts that I determined I would do.  We also took care of a couple things for my MIL, P, and hit the grocery store as well.

Once home preparations were made for the gifts, and while that was happening, I started working on Enchilada Soup, to be eaten throughout the week.  And then, I headed down to the craft room, in which I mostly stayed ensconced for the remainder of the weekend.  I’d consider myself about two-thirds complete with the initial set of gifts.  At least, the homemade portion of it.  I plan on adding some sort of purchased item with the crafty bits, so I’ll have to acquire those shortly.

I would like to have the first set of gifts done by the end of the week, and the second set done by the end of this weekend.

Obviously, no pictures or pages will be made for these particular items, both because I don’t want people who may or may not be reading this to know what I’m up to, and because I’m concentrating too hard on getting things done to take the required pictures!

I hope you don’t mind too much!

More later!
