“Tick-tock. Welcome to the Clock.”
Holy cow, this book.
At first, I thought this was just going to be a random fantasy novel, complete with monsters and magic. And I was still willing to read it, because I wanted to know more about Lucy.
Okay, I also just wanted to finish a darned book. Ya happy?
Anyway, while I don’t sit down and read it all in one sitting, I came pretty darn close. At about a third of the way through, I actually had time to just sit and read, and I enjoyed the book so, so much. I’m tempted to read it all over again!
Shall I? Maybe not. Perhaps I should wait until I read a different book, and use this as a treat.
I’m not going to go into more, because that may spoil the fun. But I’ll leave you with a couple quotes, a poem, and a lyric that is flowing through my head as I write this.
“Hate is a knife without a handle. You can’t cut something without cutting yourself.”
“Always be quiet when a heart is breaking.”
“We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams; —
World-losers and world-foresakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world forever, it seems.”
– Ode by Arthur O’Shaughnessy
“Come with me, and you’ll be
In a world of pure imagination…”
Enjoy this book!
